Tom Prescott picks up a hitchhiker as he drives home after working late. As he drops the man off, a strange bracelet made of hydrochromatized steel, is locked to his wrist and he is told that the key is in a filing cabinet in his office, at the Hudson Building in Spoke City.
An explosive device has been set in the bracelet, and is due to detonate in 30 minutes.
Southern, a secret agent, meets a gang member in a high rise apartment block and is given instructions to go to Glen Carrick Castle, where he will meet up with other members of the Erdman Gang. Before he leaves, an explosive bracelet is placed on his wrist.
