Brains/Missions

Brains appears in 28 episodes (exceptions: Martian Invasion, The Perils of Penelope, The Impostors and The Duchess Assignment). In End Of The Road, he appears only in a non-speaking role.

Brains also appears - in a notable role - in both feature-films.

In addition, he appears in the Thunderbirds 1965 episodes, but is heard in only one (Introducing Thunderbirds).

Trapped In The Sky[]

As International Rescue sets out on its first mission, Jeff congratulates Brains on inventing the Thunderbird machines: "Your phenomenal mind has made this all possible - now, you're going to see it in operation..."

Pit of Peril[]

It'll take Brains, and brawn, to figure out how to rescue the Army's Sidewinder, after the massive machine falls into a burning pit - as he and Virgil fly out to the danger zone, aboard Thunderbird 2...

Sun Probe[]

Thunderbird 3 - with Alan, Scott and Tin-Tin on board - launches into space, to try to save the imperiled Sun Probe rocket. When their first try at reaching the probe with their safety beam fails, Alan and Scott realize they must go much closer to the Sun. This time, success: with its retros working again, Sun Probe is safe...but, TB3's the one in danger now!

It's up to Brains, to use IR's mobile Transmitter Truck to jam TB3's safety beam signal - is his prototype robot, Braman, up to this life-or-death task?

The Uninvited[]

Virgil, Tin-Tin and Brains head for the Sahara Desert to rescue Scott, after he and Thunderbird 1 had been shot down by unidentified fighters - and two explorers who found him radioed International Rescue for help...

The Mighty Atom[]

When the Saharan Atomic Station come under attack from The Hood, Brains decides the only way to shut down the reactor is to cut off the seawater intake. A job for Thunderbird 4.

Vault of Death[]

When John reports to base that the Mole cannot be used to rescue a Bank of England employee accidentally locked inside its vault, everyone at the Tracy Villa - including Brains - tries to come up with another strategy...

Operation Crash Dive[]

Brains accompanies Virgil and Gordon aboard Thunderbird 2, in the hunt for the missing Fireflash 4. Consulting his charts, he realizes the plane must be somewhere on the seabed. Gordon and Thunderbird 4 quickly locate the downed craft, and Brains instructs him to use the yellow mini-sub's lasers to cut off the airliner's two main engines - as this will allow the fuselage to float to the surface, and its trapped flight crew can then be rescued...

Move - And You're Dead[]

Alan and Grandma are trapped high on the girders of the recently-completed San Miguel Bridge - with a bomb that will detonate, if either of them move! With no time to locate the bomb itself, Brains uses the Neutralizer Tractor to immobilize it, so Virgil can safely venture out onto the bridge with the Jet-Air Transporter, and rescue his brother and grandmother...

Brink Of Disaster[]

Brains and Tin-Tin face a race against time - quite literally - as they try to halt the runaway Pacific-Atlantic Monotrain (on which they and Jeff are trapped) before it barrels off a wrecked bridge, and into the deep ravine below...

Terror In New York City[]

After Thunderbird 2's crash-landing on Tracy Island - having been mistakenly attacked by World Navy missiles - Brains sets about the formidable task of rebuilding the big green cargo-carrier...

Day Of Disaster[]

While Brains is visiting Lady Penelope in England, they witness the collapse of the Allington Suspension Bridge, on live TV. They set off for the bridge site in FAB 1; and Brains is presently able to gain access to the bridge's control center. The Bridge Controller in charge summarily blows off Brains' query as to whether International Rescue has been summoned - and so, Brains withdraws unnoticed to the back of the room, and uses his wrist-watch telecom to very quietly contact John, up in Thunderbird 5...

Edge of Impact[]

Brains suspects that the military jet Red Arrow 1 was sabotaged, leading to its sudden crash (and the loss of its pilot, Race); and provides Red Arrow 2 with a diversion detector. And it works, perhaps all too well: RA2 is indeed drawn off its planned course, leaving pilot Goddard no choice but to eject (which he safely does) - but it's not just the aircraft, that's been sabotaged...

Desperate Intruder[]

Brains and Tin-Tin Kyrano join an expedition to find treasure in a ruined temple on the bed of Lake Anasta in the Middle East - but the Hood (who's always interested in such things) learns of their plans, through another of his psychic shakedowns of Kyrano...

A distress call arrives from along the Ambro River in South America, where people are trapped inside a lonely river house. Brains locates the house on the map, and tells Jeff that he "really (doesn't) have enough to go on as yet, but it sounds like the Alligators are some kind of freak mutation..."

The Cham-Cham[]

The Game's afoot: when military transport planes are shot down - coinciding with live broadcasts of the hit song Dangerous Game - Brains gets the job of decoding its melody. Examining film-footage shot (covertly) by Tin-Tin, he identifies Olsen's coding machine as a Cham-Cham Computer...

Security Hazard[]

When Virgil advises Tracy Island that Thunderbird 2 developed a fault in its electrical system while he and Scott were at the fire in an English mine, Brains is told to stand by to fix it, once both Thunderbirds arrive back at base. He might not get to that task for awhile yet, however...

Atlantic Inferno[]

Lady Penelope invites Jeff to join her for a holiday at her farm in Bonga Bonga, Australia. Jeff's reluctant, but his sons (even John, up on TB5!) convince him to take a much-deserved break; and as he departs, Scott assumes temporary command of IR.

Later, when a gas field ignites in the Atlantic, putting the Seascape drilling rig in danger, Scott turns to Brains for advice...
