A press conference was called by General Speyer to announce the drifting of the atomic cloud that was moving towards Melbourne. This was after the destruction of the atomic irrigation plant by the Hood in The Mighty Atom.
General Speyer was announced on stage, by his press officer to the waiting media. Attending the meeting was Eddie Kerr from the Melbourne Herald and other well known guests including Commander Norman and Professor Holden.
