With inclement weather moving into the area of the new road that Gray & Houseman Construction Co. is working on, the mountain range is crumbling into the pathway cleared by Eddie. It's clear to company boss Bob Gray and his crew that it'll never survive the oncoming monsoon season.

When Eddie Houseman himself hears the news, he immediately cuts short his vacation to Tracy Island (leaving poor Tin-Tin in the proverbial lurch) and returns to the build-site.

Realizing that the company is finished if the agreed-upon completion deadline is not met, Eddie recklessly (and without telling anyone) sets off in the explosives truck to plant charges on the unstable peak about to collapse. He's still too close, though, when he fires the charges - and the resulting blast leaves his truck teetering on the edge of the mountain trail. And there's worse to come: he still has a case of unstable Nutomic Charges on board, and if the truck goes over the edge he'll be blown sky-high!

IR Faces A Dilemma...[]

Bob Gray calls International Rescue, and tells John Tracy what's happened. John's faced with a dilemma, though, when he reports the news to base - leaving until last the name of the person needing to be rescued. What to do? Eddie knows the Tracys, and that means rescuing him risks revealing their identities and breaching IR's security. Nonetheless, Jeff green-lights the mission; and Scott setts off in Thunderbird 1, followed by Virgil and Alan in Thunderbird 2.

Balancing Acts[]

Conditions are perilous at the danger zone, as falling rocks threaten to overbalance the G&H tractor. Scott fires long High-Velocity Steel Spears into the cliff-face, to protect Eddie from any more of them. As Virgil brings in TB2 to pick up the truck with the Electromagnetic Pod Grabs, the craft's vertical jets start to tip the Explosives Truck over the edge; and Virgil is forced to back off. Scott has an idea, and tells his brother to stand by: if his idea works, "come straight in and grab it." Carefully maneuvering TB1, Scott utilizes his craft's nose-cone to prop up the truck - "Come in now, I'll take the strain." - and Virgil does, as TB2 descends and picks up the vehicle.

A Lift From Thunderbird 2[]

TB2's successfully lifted the truck away from the cliff - but the vehicle's proving too heavy for the grabs; despite Alan's efforts, they're failing one by one as TB2 moves away from the danger zone...

Virgil manoeuvres the truck near to the mountainside, and Eddie leaps clear - just before the vehicle slips free of the grabs altogether, and as it crashes into the ground far below, the Nutomic charges still aboard the tractor detonate and cause a massive explosion!

Security Intact[]

Eddie's safely back on the ground, but he won't be getting the chance to thank his rescuers face-to-face - for Thunderbirds 1 and 2 are already bearing away from the scene, heading for home and with International Rescue's security still intact.
