In Pit of Peril, Virgil Tracy is lowered into the pit that the Sidewinder has fallen into, to place explosive changes, so that it can be dragged out the pit by the Recovery Vehicles.

Virgil and the Recovery Vehicles[]
Scott Tracy recovers Virgil from the pit by drilling down in the Mole. Brains detonates the charges and the explosion successfully clear the crust over the pit. Virgil takes control of two Recovery Vehicles equipped with magnetic lines, powerful electromagnets attached to winch cables. The Recovery Vehicles haul the Sidewinder up the side of the pit, and the crew are saved!
