"It seemed so real!"

Chip Morrison is a character from Security Hazard. When International Rescue comes to carry out a rescue mission near his home, he stows away on board Thunderbird 2.

Biography[]

While Scott, Virgil and Alan are fighting a fire in an English mine, Chip stows away in Thunderbird 2's Pod. When they arrive back on Tracy Island, the intruder alert goes off - and Jeff Tracy finds himself with a security hazard on his hands.

Safely Tucked up in Bed[]

Mr. Morrison puts his son to bed and tells him to settle down for the night. But Chip's so excited about the rescue, he gets up and looks out the window - and he can see Thunderbird 2...its pod flap open...close by his house. After his dad sets off to help with the fire, Chip slips outside...and sneaks aboard...

Saboteur on Board![]

As Thunderbird 2 reverses into its hangar, an alarm sounds: there's a saboteur on board! Jeff, Scott and Gordon stand by, armed with hand guns, while Virgil releases the pod and opens the flap. Over the tan Jeff warns the saboteur to come out, "or we'll blast you out!"

To their shocked surprise, it's the young Chip who sticks his head round the corner of the pod entrance - and pleads with them not to shoot: "I didn't mean any harm!"

Thunderbird 1 is More Important[]

Chip tells Virgil he wants to fly Thunderbird 1, as it's faster, and more important, than the other Thunderbirds. Virgil then explains how Thunderbird 2 was instrumental in the rescue of Eddie Houseman (in End Of The Road), trapped in his explosives truck and balanced precariously on a mountain ledge...

Not so Involved?[]

Alan has appeared in the hangar, to take his turn looking after Chip - and tells him all about the Sun Probe rescue in space, after Chip thinks Thunderbird 3 isn't needed much on rescue missions...

Gosh, Thunderbird 1![]

Nor does Scott hide much from Chip, as he remembers his first mission: the rescue of the passengers (Trapped in the Sky) aboard the stricken Fireflash aircraft...

That Can't Happen Very Often...[]

Finally - Scott's insistence to the contrary notwithstanding - Chip gets to see Thunderbird 4, and thinks the yellow mini-sub isn't used too much, either. Gordon disagrees - and, keen to impress the boy, tells him all about the rescue at the Allington Suspension Bridge...when he saved the trapped crew of the Martian Space Probe rocket, from the bottom of the Allington River...

Jeff's Gonna go Berserk...[]

Last of all, Jeff takes the boy into the lounge and shows him where and how he controls the rescues - to the astonishment of the rest of the family.

Any Bright Ideas?[]

Jeff tells the boys that they must get Chip back to his home, and they need to prevent a security leak. And he's come up with an idea...

As Chip stowed away in England, almost directly the other side of the world from their base, instead of Chip being asleep at home, he's been awake - and very much awake - for a very long time...

Because, when it's night in England, it's daylight on Tracy Island - and so, they put Chip to bed. He sleeps like a log. His bed is then transferred to Thunderbird 2; and, at top speed, Scott and Virgil get him back to his home, and settled in his own room, before dawn breaks. When the boy wakes up in the morning, he thinks that it was all just a dream!

Trivia[]

Chip's housecoat and pyjamas - or a set similar to it - later appears on Brains, in Atlantic Inferno.
The blanket used in Thunderbird 2 is the same colour and design as the one in Chip's bedroom.
Some other furnishings previously seen in John's quarters aboard Thunderbird 5 (including that blanket) can also be identified.

Chip's puppet previously appeared as Bob Williams in Cry Wolf. It put in a cameo in Danger At Ocean Deep and The Duchess Assignment.

The toy airplane Chip has in his room also appeared at London Airport in The Duchess Assignment. In The Impostors, it was seen taking off from the carrier W.N.S. Atlantic. In Thunderbirds Are Go (film), it is seen parked on the ground when the Air-Sea Rescue Helicopters take off.
The model is a modified version of the Arrowhead Jet seen previously in the Stingray episode Rescue from the Skies.
