The sea water intake
In The Mighty Atom, The Hood had set fire to the atomic plant in the Sahara desert. Thunderbird 4 was needed to destroy the sea water intake while Scott and Virgil closed down the atomic reactors.
Once Gordon arrived at the sea water intake, he waited for Scott and Virgil to bring the reactors under control by using the reactor rods. With only seconds to spare he received the command "fire missiles". They hit their target and the mission was a complete success.
